Before you open the design tool

  • For a grave: ask the cemetery office for its written marker specification. Canadian cemeteries usually set the largest size a marker may be in each section, and some name the base it must sit on.
  • For a wall, bench or rock: measure the space and leave a margin all round.
  • For the wording: write the names, dates and any verse in a note first.

How to order a bronze plaque online, step by step

  • 1. Choose the shape and size. Pick from the sizes we cast. The tool only offers shapes and sizes that are available, so you cannot choose one we cannot make.
  • 2. Type the inscription. Enter your wording, then set the font style and size and move each line where you want it.
  • 3. Add motifs, a border or a photo. Choose from a wide range of borders and motifs, pick the background paint colour, or add a photo in ceramic.
  • 4. Check the live price. The price button shows the cost of your design in Canadian dollars at any point, and it changes as you change the size and options.
  • 5. Save and share. Save the design to your account and send it to family. You can design as many plaques as you like.
  • 6. Approve the free proof. We prepare a written proof for you to check. Ask for changes if anything is wrong, and pass it to the cemetery or building manager if they need to approve it.
  • 7. Pay. Press Proceed to Purchase and pay online.
  • 8. We cast and ship. Your plaque is cast in bronze, finished and shipped across Canada. We confirm the delivery date with the proof.

That is our price for the plaque. If it goes on a grave, the cemetery may also charge for setting, a permit or a granite base. Those fees are a guide only, are set and collected by the cemetery, and can change, so ask the office for its current list.

Timing and the Canadian installation season

You can design and order at any time of year. Most Canadian cemeteries set markers from spring to late autumn. A plaque ordered in winter is usually set in spring.
