A full colour plaque fires your photographs, logos and artwork into kiln fired porcelain, so the colour is part of the plaque rather than a print on top. You design it online, see the price in Canadian dollars as you go, and we ship it anywhere in Canada.

Colour that tells the story words cannot
Some tributes need more than a name and two dates. A smiling photograph taken at the cottage, a team crest, a grandchild’s drawing or a parish logo can say in one glance what a long inscription struggles to. Our full colour plaque is made in kiln fired porcelain: the image and your text are fired into the glaze, the colour and the glaze fuse into one permanent surface, and the picture you approve is the picture that arrives at your door. A vitreous enamel version, glass fused onto metal, is coming to the full colour range soon; ask us if you would rather wait for it.
Families choose it for memorials and dedications. Municipalities, schools and community groups use it in parks, on buildings and at historical sites, where a reproduced archival photograph or map helps visitors understand what happened on that spot. If you are comparing ways to show a photograph on a memorial, our page on picture plaques for memorials is a good place to start.
What sets this plaque apart
- Full colour reproduction: Photographs, logos and artwork are reproduced in full colour rather than reduced to a single tone.
- Kiln fired porcelain: The colour and the glaze are fused together in the kiln, which gives the plaque its durability and keeps the image clear indoors or out.
- Your own arrangement: Combine photos, names, dates, verses, logos or artwork in a layout you build yourself.
- Wall or post mounting: Pick a wall mounted plaque for a building or a post mounted plaque for a park, trail or garden.
- A range of sizes: The design tool lists the sizes available, so you can match the plaque to the wall, post or space you have.
Where it works in Canada, and where to check first
Indoors, a full colour plaque suits a lobby, a classroom, a church hall or a memorial wall at home. Outdoors, the fired glaze stands up to sun, rain and frost. Think about placement as well: a plaque on a wall under an overhang, or on a post set well above the ground, stays readable in January, when anything flat on a Canadian lawn can sit under snow until spring.
Cemeteries are a different matter. Every Canadian cemetery sets its own marker rules in a by-law, diocesan regulation or private rulebook, and there is no national standard. Many lawn sections take flat markers only, and several cemeteries define a marker as granite. Before you order a full colour plaque for a grave, ask the cemetery office for its written marker specification and confirm that a porcelain plaque is allowed. Our overview of cemetery marker rules across Canada explains how that approval step works.
Price, shipping and what is not included
The design tool shows the price in Canadian dollars while you design, and shipping anywhere in Canada is included in that price.
In the design tool on 22 October 2026, a 250 by 200 mm (about 10 by 8 inch) full colour plaque was $648.00 in Canadian dollars, and the price changes as you change the size and options.
We confirm the delivery date for your plaque with the proof. If the plaque is going to a cemetery, its setting or permit fee is charged by the cemetery and is separate from our price. We do not install plaques, so plan ahead for who will mount it on the wall or post. If you are still choosing a material for a sign that will stay outside year round, read our comparison of bronze, aluminum and stainless steel for outdoor use.
How to order
- Measure the wall or post where the plaque will go. If it is for a grave, get the cemetery’s written marker specification first.
- Open the full colour plaque design tool, upload your photo or artwork, add your wording and watch the price in Canadian dollars update as you go.
- Check the free written proof we prepare before production, ask for any changes, and share it with the cemetery office or property manager if they need to approve it.
- Press Proceed to Purchase when everything is right, or save the design and come back to it later from My Account.
Frequently asked questions
Can a full colour plaque be placed in a Canadian cemetery?
It depends on the cemetery. Each one sets its own marker rules, many lawn sections take flat markers only, and some define a marker as granite. Ask the office for its written specification and show them our free proof before you order.
Can I use an old family photograph?
Yes. You can upload photographs, logos and artwork in the design tool. The written proof shows how the image will look on the plaque before anything is produced, so you can decide whether it works.
Is the plaque meant for indoor or outdoor use?
Both. The image is fired into porcelain, so it suits a hallway or lobby as well as a wall or post outside.
Does the price include shipping?
Yes. The price shown in Canadian dollars in the design tool includes shipping anywhere in Canada. Any fee a cemetery charges to set or permit a marker is separate and is paid to the cemetery.
Do you install the plaque?
No. We make and ship the plaque, and you or a local installer mount it on the wall or post. For a cemetery, the office will tell you who is allowed to set it.
